About

Welcome to the Stitch Deck Studio — where creativity, heritage craftsmanship, and beautiful design come together in a collectible library of stitch charts for knitters & crocheters.

I’m Erin – the founder behind the Stitch Deck Studio.

For more than a decade I’ve managed $20M+ federal grant projects and have been guiding complex initiatives for medical professionals with precision, strategy, and a commitment to excellence. My career has been built around organization, planning, and transforming ambitious ideas into reality. Today, I’m bringing those same skills into the fiber arts world – ensuring every deck is thoughtfully designed, impeccably organized, and of heritage quality.

Long before I was managing large-scale projects though, I’ve been a maker. I’ve been crocheting for more than 30 years and knitting for nearly a decade. Like many makers, I’ve spent countless hours collecting stitch dictionaries, bookmarking colorwork charts, saving inspiration photos, and searching for that perfect motif for a project. The problem wasn’t a lack of inspiration for knitting – it was the entire missing body of crochet colorwork stitch patterns as well as the lack of modern filet crochet lace charts. Not only are these scarce resources, but practical ways to organize and use crochet charts are missing too.

So, I created the Stitch Deck Studio.

A Different Kind of Stitch Library

The Stitch Deck Studio is designed to solve a few problems many makers face:

First of all – where are the crochet resources?!?

There’s tons of colorwork and lace inspiration for knitters, but where is the crochet colorwork dictionary with explanations of stitches to use for colorwork? There’s only 1 that I know of, and I own it! But only ONE resource for crocheters? Unfair.

Also – how about a filet crochet lace book that has easy to learn panels and was published in the last century? Not to mention instructions for filet crochet. One book’s instructions might be very different from another book’s – starting chain issues anyone?

I was frustrated. So I decided to take a page out of dear Jamie’s deck if you will (Doodle Decks, in case you haven’t heard. They’re AMAZING!) and create my own resources, starting with crochet.

Currently two crochet libraries are available – one for crochet colorwork, and one for filet crochet – with a future knitting colorwork line coming in 2027. These libraries are perfect for beginners wanting to explore the work of crochet colorwork or lace without having to tote around a giant book filled with hundreds of tiny flags sticking out the sides or tops.

Which brings me to the second problem: Published colorwork and filet crochet books are large, bulky, and rarely portable, organized, or easy to use while you’re actively creating.

Instead of another oversized reference book that sits on a shelf, Stitch Decks are designed to live alongside your projects.

They’re small enough to tuck into a project bag, clip to a pattern, or take on a trip. Whether you’re sitting in a coffee shop, waiting for an appointment, relaxing at the beach, or on a flight across the country, your favorite charts travel with you. You don’t even need instructions if you’ve got a chart you can read which keeps creating simple, not cluttered.

Additionally, each deck is carefully curated to provide both inspiration and practicality, helping makers:

• Discover new stitch patterns and colorwork motifs
• Experiment with fresh design ideas
• Mix and match chart collections
• Build a personalized library of creative resources
• Keep favorite charts easily accessible while working

The goal isn’t just to collect charts— although you’ll want to collect every volume in our stitch deck library! It’s to expand the creative options for makers as well as make creating easier. We’re pulling from a long history of textiles and pattern making – block printing, tilework, weaving patterns, sashiko, fabrics – to create new charts that breathe new life into making knitting and crochet patterns.

Not only should tools be used, but I believe the tools we use should be as beautiful as the projects we create.

That’s why every Stitch Deck collection is thoughtfully designed around color, pattern, and presentation. Each collection features coordinated packaging, distinctive color themes, and a format that turns functional charts into collectible creative tools.

These aren’t simply reference cards – They’re a curated library of inspiration designed to spark new ideas every time you pick them up.

Whether you’re:

• A crocheter looking for fresh stitch inspiration
• A knitter exploring new colorwork possibilities
• A pattern designer searching for new motifs
• A local yarn shop owner looking for unique products for your customers

The Stitch Deck Studio was created with you in mind.

The Dream Behind the Decks

There’s one more story behind the Stitch Deck Studio.

Long before I created these decks, I fell in love with European history & culture, and especially in love with France. That passion eventually inspired an even bigger dream that predates the Stitch Deck Studio: The French Castle Project.

One day I’ll curate immersive knitting and crochet retreats in a beautiful French castle—a place where makers can slow down, learn, connect, create, and experience the joy of fiber arts in a gorgous, peaceful & inspiring setting. This won’t be just another busy retreat – it’ll be a place to rediscover your dreams and leave with creativity overflowing.

And today, the Stitch Deck Studio is helping bring these retreats to life.

Every deck sold helps fund the next phase of The French Castle Project while providing makers with practical tools they can use right now.

So when you add a Stitch Deck to your collection, you’re doing more than just purchasing stitch charts – You’re joining a community of makers, dreamers, and creative adventurers who believe beautiful things are worth building—one stitch at a time.

Welcome to the Stitch Deck Studio.

I’m so glad you’re here.
